Trivia

Caine's role as Irish thug Gilrony, hired to help out the family, ended up being cut to almost nothing, but at least he got the part in the first place. Also up for the role was then-unknown Sean Connery.

Anthony Newley was a well-known British heart-throb actor and singer in the 1950s and 1960s and was once married to Joan Collins. He also co-wrote the score for Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
